Exam Prep
AP Statistics support for class, FRQs, and the May exam
AP Statistics is usually hardest when students know the formula but are unsure what the question is really asking. Tutoring focuses on recognizing the procedure, checking conditions, and explaining conclusions in context.
Bring your current unit, homework, test corrections, released FRQs, calculator questions, or review packet. We will connect each problem to the AP scoring habits that matter most: name the procedure, verify conditions, show the relevant work, and write the conclusion in context.

AP Statistics unit coverage
Tutoring can focus on one weak unit or connect the course as a whole. The current AP Statistics course is organized into five units, and the highest-weight unit is the opening data and design unit.
We can spend more time where your teacher is moving quickly: interpreting context, choosing the right procedure, checking conditions, and writing AP-style conclusions.
Unit 1: Data & design
- 20%-30% of the exam
- One-variable and two-variable data
- Random sampling
- Experimental design
Unit 2: Probability
- 15%-25% of the exam
- Probability rules
- Random variables
- Binomial and normal distributions
Unit 3: Proportions
- 15%-25% of the exam
- Confidence intervals for proportions
- Tests for proportions
- Chi-square tests
Units 4-5: Means & regression
- 20%-40% combined
- Inference for means
- Least-squares regression
- Inference for regression slopes
Multiple choice strategy
Practice moving quickly without guessing the procedure too early. We work on calculator fluency, interpretation questions, and eliminating tempting answers that use the wrong context or condition.
Free-response strategy
FRQs are graded on reasoning and communication. Sessions emphasize clear setup, condition checks, labeled work, and conclusions that answer the actual AP prompt.
