Frequently Asked Questions About AP Calculus BC Tutoring

Get answers to common questions about AP Calculus BC prep

AP Calculus BC includes everything in AB plus: sequences and series (including Taylor and Maclaurin series), parametric equations, polar coordinates, vector-valued functions, and advanced integration techniques like integration by parts.

BC covers more material at a faster pace than AB. It's equivalent to two semesters of college calculus rather than one. However, with proper preparation and pacing, motivated students can succeed and earn an AB subscore even if they find some BC topics challenging.

Series is one of the most challenging BC topics. I help students understand when to use each convergence test (ratio, root, comparison, integral, etc.), practice with Taylor/Maclaurin series, and master interval of convergence problems that frequently appear on the exam.

The AB subscore is a separate score you receive on BC-only content equivalent to an AB exam score. This is useful if you're applying to schools that only accept AB credit—you get both scores from one exam.
